Our Dream

Our Mission

The mission of Infinity Expeditions and its founding crew is to promote global awareness, understanding and collaborative, real-world problem-solving of environmental issues and choices impacting our planet and its citizens. We aim to hear, learn from, and make heard those whose voices are seldom present in conversation and policy-making, but whose cultures and livelihoods stand to be drastically affected by the choices and decisions we as a human race make today. Our primary focus is on the remote communities of the Pacific islands, where climate change presents a very real threat to existence. Our 120-foot sailing vessel, Infinity, serves, quite literally, as the vehicle for most of our work. She carries us to isolated land masses and their people, who are often excluded from discussion because of their location and the difficulty involved in reaching them. With Infinity's help, we conduct our own research, facilitate dialogue, and share best practices among populations facing similar environmental issues. We also serve as a bridge between these remote islands and other areas of the globe, bringing the concerns and unique solutions of these populations to the table, and developing projects in the many countries from which our crew hails that increase the possibility of a sustainable future for our planet. We welcome volunteers and interns on board, and are honored to share with them in life-changing adventures. In addition to forging our own projects, we offer cost-effective use of Infinity and her crew to other organizations and educational institutions sharing similar goals to ours, including those attempting to reach isolated island populations in times of natural disaster or other emergency needs. Together, we endeavor to inspire citizens around the world to choose lifestyles that make environmental sustainability and averting climate change a priority.

Our Vision

Our vision is a world in which people from all walks of life and reaches of the planet recognize their connection to and responsibility for each other, the Earth we share, and the life that exists upon it. The citizens in this world act with this consciousness in mind each day, making personal and collaborative choices that revere the preciousness of each other, our planet and our resources here. We see people treating the Earth not as a treasure to be plundered but as a treasure to be protected, valued, and cherished so that it can be enjoyed and loved by generations to come. We envision remote islands and their people and cultures living happily with natural abundance. We imagine the oceans teaming with life, the jungles green and lush, the penguins and polar bears thriving in their natural environment with no threat of extinction. We see a sustainable world that we can look back at and be proud of the choices we have made and the hand we have had in keeping its beauty alive.

Our Values

We strive to create and maintain an environment aboard Infinity and in the work we do that supports and inspires integrity, collaboration, ingenuity, respect, open-mindedness, humility, personal challenge, responsibility, and inclusivity.

Our Goals

The goals of Infinity Expedition are to work with organizations, government and populations to:

  1. Facilitate the inclusion of remote voices in discussion and decisions made about environmental policy and practices.

  2. Encourage and enable sharing of ideas and best practices related to energy use, recycling, food production, waste management and other sustainable practices among Pacific island cultures and other environmentally progressive societies around the world.

  3. Develop and implement programs and projects that take steps toward creating sustainability among Pacific island communities and the communities from which our crew members originate, based upon research and findings aboard Infinity.

  4. Prepare a future generation of environmentally conscious, educated, caring citizens who will continue our efforts as stewards of this earth.

  5. Provide transportation and volunteers to assist environmental and humanitarian groups with gathering data and accomplishing their projects and goals in the South Pacific.

Our Objectives

The efforts and activities of Infinity Expedition are designed to meet one or more of the following objectives:

  1. To increase the variety of voices and experiences in the discussion of environmental issues around the world today, at home, in classrooms, in boardrooms and beyond.

  2. To generate a greater feeling of connectedness to environmental issues among the world's citizens by putting a human face on the impacts of climate change and other environmental threats.

  3. To collect, collate, and distribute unique, exciting ideas practiced by individuals, villages and communities that can be adopted and tailored to address environmental concerns and promote sustainability in various communities around the globe.

  4. To improve access among environmental and humanitarian organizations to important information, opinions and statistics that exist in the remote reaches of the planet and to knowledge that may serve to improve the sustainability and fate of our planet.

  5. To increase physical access among environmental and humanitarian organizations to hard-to-reach parts of the globe.

  6. To increase the number and quality of local and international efforts in the Pacific islands and our home communities geared toward promoting sustainable living and averting climate change.

  7. To broaden and enhance the educational experiences of youth (high school, undergraduate and graduate students) interested in environmental, cultural and humanitarian issues.
